Training

The importance of good effective training

The final stage of any project regarding new technology is the training stage.

At Mayflower we believe that user training is one of the most important parts of any project. As with most technology, the ability for the end user to understand what their equipment is capable of, and how to use it effectively is the key to maximising the benefit of their investment.

Whilst we realise it is sometimes difficult to justify the resource and expense of thorough training, Mayflower believes that the training you receive on the equipment you have invested in, is in-fact one of if not the most important phases of the whole project. Its success or failure will almost certainly impact on your final conlusions whether your financial investment, was a wise one.

It is quite easy to spend a lot of time and effort on consultancy, decide on a solution that meets business objectives, have the whole installation go exactly to plan with good project management, and then become disillusioned when the training you receive doesn't provide you with the necessary skills to operate the new equipment at a level where you can really experience the benefits.

Mayflower understands the real importance in providing our customers with effective, hands on training. Our project management philosophy has always been to incorporate specific training at key stages of an installation. Each organisation and the staff within it are different, so Mayflower seeks agreement, during project meetings, on a training schedule.

In any event, Mayflower always provides engineering "go live cover" (Often a Monday) to help embrace the new technology.

  • We construct a specific training program for each one of our new installation projects, targeting all equipment, software and cabling infrastructure.
  • We work closely with you through our project management processes to agree times and dates for all training schedules. We outline the exact objective of each training session for later evaluation
  • Part of the task of handing over our installation to you as a completed project is to get you to sign a document stating that you are happy with the training you have received. At this point we sit down and discus the whole project with you and in particular, the training you as a company have undergone, and if it has lived up to your expectations. Only if the answer to that question is yes, do we feel we have completed our job and are willing to accept the signed handover document from you.
  • We like to keep in-touch with our customers on a regular basis to ensure they are happy and have no problems. If additional or refresher training proves to be a requirement for you, we can organise this to be tailor made to meet your particular needs.
