New features from Avaya IP Office 3.1

The release of the Avaya IP Office (3.1) software contains a range of new features which will add value for existing and new IP Office customers.

Cost-effective mobility. With IP Office 3.1 the system now supports a new Avaya IP DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telephony) mobility solution. This provides a highly functional wireless solution with the ability to scale to support large numbers of users. This is a more cost-effective solution than traditional DECT systems, enabling companies who previously were not able to consider wireless to benefit from the flexibility of mobile on-site working.

New handset. A new telephone is now available for the IP Office. The 4621SW IP Phone is a feature-rich IP telephone which provides the convenience and productivity benefits inherent in a telephone that has a large screen, backlit graphic display. The 4621SW delivers an extensive set of IP Office features directly to the desktop including:

• Support for up to 24 call appearances
• Integrated switched port for LAN connection of PC
• Two way speakerphone
• Integrated headset jack
• Secure voice communication enabled by media encryption
• Multiple power options, including support for Power over Ethernet (class 2)
